While we were at La Trinidad (the school), we were talking with the students and a teacher. The teacher was helping us translate what the children were saying. They were so curious about American culture but one event that really stood out to me was when one of the girls asked who God was and what He was like. This was the perfect opportunity for our group to share with them about the Lord and His love for us. We explained to them that He is a loving and forgiving God and that He loves each one of them. After we told them this, so many of the children had the biggest smiles on their faces. This was so great for me to see especially in a different country how the love of God transcends cultures. This really helped me personally to step out of my confort zone and be able to talk with the people here. Tomorrow we are doing Street ministry and I am looking forward to talking with even more people. The situation at the school has prepared me and gave me a taste of what is to come.
